What is 5th Sunday Serve?
5th Sunday Serve is inspired by Galatians 5:13-14. It reads: 13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself."

The meaning of Fifth Sunday is based on the fact that every 3 months there is an extra Sunday in that month. Rather than spending this morning in church, Pastor Steve Rau envisioned it as an opportunity for charitable giving back to our community. Previous Fifth Sundays have been used to bring blessings to the residents of Pleasant Valley trailer park and, more recently, improvements were made to the Angel's Hands Outreach store. On Sunday June 30th, Shiawassee Harvest Church will partner with area libraries to hold a Family Fun Day at Crawford Memorial Park in Vernon. The event will begin at 11:30 am and will include a lunch and drinks. We invite everyone to attend, bring along a blanket to spread out and enjoy a picnic. There will be games, prizes, and live music. We hope to see a big turnout for this free event and please remember to support your local library!
