The Purpose Second Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” What does reproof mean? The sense is: "The Spirit will teach men the true meaning of these three words: sin, righteousness, judgment." The Action Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The Word of God will come to you in your time of trouble. The seen and unseen. What does dividing asunder mean: to part forcibly, to cause to tremble," then "to loosen: When you are loosened, aren’t you SET FREE? The Application Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Job 23:12 “I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.” Psalm 119:11 “I have stored up your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” The Result Matthew 7:24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The Outcome Nehemiah 8:3 “And he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.” |
