1983: Home Bible Study

Founding Pastors Rick and Rena Story started with a small bible study in their home in Durand, MI. A few families gathered every week for fellowship, encouragement and studying God's Word. In the years to come and with the home church growing, God led them to Corunna, MI for the next step in S.H.C.'s history. Take a look below:

1987: Purchased the Moose Lodge on Parmenter Rd. in Corunna, MI

From the small bible study in their home in 1983, God took them to Corunna, MI where the church purchased the moose lodge. They renovated the entire building to make room for growth. Children classrooms were made, a new sanctuary built and a basement remodeled for the youth group came to fruition. Church services began and over the next 7 years the church began to grow.

1994: New Building Project

In 1994, the next step in God's vision for S.H.C. began. This time, it was to purchase land and to begin a new building program. The property is located on the corner of M-71 and Dutcher St in Corunna. The property sits on several acres. They built on more classrooms, a larger sanctuary and a larger youth group room.

2022: The Future

-The future is bright for S.H.C. The excitement is growing. Through leadership courses, community events, strategic planning and most important God's direction, it is the desire of the church and Lead Pastor, Steve Rau to reach more people than ever before. To teach people that it is about a relationship with God, not religion.

Lead Pastor, Steve Rau says "Everything we do as a church, every leader raised, every person reached, every community event done, every department of the church, will operate through the filter of being "Servant Hearted and Service Minded."
